Knox Grammar School
The Knox Grammar School Swimming Team has won the Associated Schools of NSW (CAS) Swimming Championship for the second year running Homebush on Thursday evening.
The Knox Swim Team of approximately 70 students broke 12 CAS records at the competition, in front of a packed crowd of more than 1,000 Knox students, parents and staff.
Joseph Hamson (Year 9) broke three records: 15 years 50 metre freestyle (24.51 seconds), 15 years 100 metre freestyle (54.05 seconds) and 15 years 50 metre butterfly (26.05 seconds).
Leon Macalister (Year 12) broke the record for the open 50 metre backstroke with a time of 26.88 seconds and the open 100 metres backstroke (56.86 seconds).
Joshua Collett (Year 9) broke the 14 years 50 metre breaststroke (31.75 seconds) and the 14 years 50 metre butterfly (27.15 seconds).
The other record breakers were Oscar Wang (16 years 50 metre freestyle, 24.15 seconds) and Tane Bidois (13 years 50 metre freestyle, 26.14 seconds).
The Knox 200 metre relay teams also broke the following records: open medley – Ben Yates, Leon Macalister, Jack Edie, George Zhu (1 minute 47.79 seconds), 14 years medley - Tane Bidois, Joshua Collett, Justin Lee and Rason Liu (1 minute 56.38 seconds) and 16 years freestyle – Mark Buddee, Oscar Wang, Brendan Hee and Josh Johnson (1 minute 39.45 seconds).
Knox won 43 of the 73 events. The overall winner of the points competition was Knox (564 points), with Trinity Grammar finishing second (542) and Barker College finishing third (431.5). The Knox Diving Team finished third overall.
This is the 31st time Knox Grammar School has won the CAS trophy since first winning the competition in 1933.

Last week, the Senior School celebrated the HSC results of the Class of 2024 with an assembly in the Great Hall. Students in Years 7-12 gathered as the recent graduates were recognised for their outstanding performances.

In December 2024, 25 students in Years 9, 10 and Year 11 flew over the Tasman to experience Queenstown in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
